Level 3 (go now!) evacuations for 1,700-acre Pioneer wildfire near Lake Chelan

CHELAN, Wash. — Level 3 (Go Now!) evacuations have been extended down the lake due to the Pioneer Fire.

According to Chelan County Emergency Management, residents north of Moore Point south to Canoe Creek are under a Level 3 (Go Now!) and must leave immediately.

The fire has burned over 1700-acres, and crews continue to fight the blaze.

Chelan County Emergency Management has issued the following evacuation orders:

Level 3: Just north of Moore Point south to Canoe Creek. Level 3 (in red) means leave the area immediately.Level 2 (down lake): Canoe Creek to Lone Fir Creek. Level 2 (in yellow) means prepare now in case you need to evacuate the area in a hurry.

Level 1 (down lake): Lone Fir Creek to Safety Harbor. Level 1 (in green) means stay alert and monitor the fire in the area.

Level 2 (up lake): Just north of Moore Point to and including Flick Creek Campground. Level 2 (in yellow) means prepare now in case you need to evacuate the area in a hurry.

Level 1 (up lake): Flick Creek Campground to and including the Fourmile Creek camping area. Level 1 (in green) means stay alert and monitor the fire in the area.

Level 3 (go now!) evacuations for the 1,172-acre Pioneer wildfire near the Rex Creek area remain in effect.

, initially covering 10-15 acres and swelling to 300 acres by the weekend. Firefighters continue to combat the blaze, and evacuation orders are still in place for the Rex Creek area. No structures are threatened by the fire.

Level 3 evacuation status indicates immediate danger, requiring residents or hikers in the area to leave without delay. The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) advises adhering to evacuation plans, even if the danger isn’t immediately apparent.

According to the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), they are addressing a wildfire roughly 31 miles northwest of Chelan along the east shore of the lake. The fire spans at least 300 acres and was reported on June 8, initially measuring 10 to 15 acres. DNR reports the deployment of air and ground crews actively engaged in firefighting efforts.
