SPOKANE, Wash. — An 85-acre fire prompted Level 3 (go now!) for many living near Geiger Heights and is now 100% lined.
The Grove Fire remains 85 acres in size with 100 structures threatened. Anyone in the following areas is in immediate danger and need to go now!
Drosett Road to the east.Abbott Lane to the west.Morning Lane to the south.North 57th Avenue to the north.
If you do not know if you are under an evacuation notice, visit the Spokane County Evacuation Zone Lookup and search your address.
The Red Cross will open an evacuation meeting point at Shriners Event Center at 6 p.m. and will help with small animals. If you own big animals, there is not a set shelter at this time.
According to Washington State Department of Natural Resources, the fire is 100% lined. Currently, there is not an update on containment.
The Grove Fire was originally a half-acre in size near 7800 South Grove Road and continues to spread. The fire is currently estimated at 85 acres.
Northbound lanes of Cheney-Spokane road will be reopened for evacuation traffic.
The Spokane Valley Fire Department has been called to assist battling this fire.
The cause of this fire is unknown and no injuries are reported at this time.
