Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations issued for Jack Wells Fire near Brewster

Update on Oct. 1 at 4:40 p.m. – Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations have been issued for the Jack Wells Fire burning near Brewster.

Level 3 (Go Now) orders have been issued for a fire burning in the area of Cameron Lake Road, Delfeld Road, Snyder Flat Cutoff Road and Alkali Pond area near Brewster.

A LEVEL 3 EVACUATION MEANS “GO!” EVACUATE NOW, LEAVE IMMEDIATELY!

The threat to the area is current or imminent, and immediate evacuation is required. If ignored residents must understand that emergency services may not be available to assist you further. Residents should NOT delay leaving to gather any belongings or make efforts to protect property. THIS IS THE LAST NOTICE THAT WILL BE GIVEN. Entry to evacuated areas may be denied until conditions are safe. Area radio and TV stations will have been asked to broadcast periodic updates.

Originally published on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. – BRIDGEPORT, Wash.— Level 2 (Be Set) evacuations have been issued for a fire burning near Gamble Sands Golf Course, close to Bridgeport.

According to Okanogan County Emergency Management, the fire originated off Jack Wells Road and has moved northwest, east of La Grange Road.

Emergency management officials advise residents to be cautious of emergency vehicles in the area.

Level 1(Be Ready) evacuations have also been issued for the area of Cameron Lake Road, Delfeld Road and Alkali Pond area.

A Level 2 evacuation indicates significant danger, and residents are urged to pack their emergency items and stay informed through local media, fire departments and public safety updates.

Residents are encouraged to voluntarily relocate to a shelter or stay with family and friends outside the affected area. If choosing to remain, they should be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.

Note: In some counties, a Level 2 evacuation may be the only notice provided. These advisories may or may not be accompanied by checkpoints, roadblocks or road closures.
