SPOKANE, Wash—James Connelly, the CEO of Impact Laboratories, a third-party verification company that keeps biotech and pharmaceutical businesses accountable, says they must be accountable if they want to be certified as sustainable companies.
“We offer the world’s most trusted standard and then also the verification process to make sure that people are really holding themselves accountable,” Connelly said.
According to the CEO, labs use about ten times as much energy and four times as much water. He added that 10% of our global plastic waste results from scientific research, “it’s a huge environmental impact and something that we need to address.”
He further underlined that the establishment of industry standards and their rigorous verification is a strategy that yields positive outcomes in the long run, fostering better performance, customer trust, and the desired environmental results we all strive for.
Connelly emphasized that Impart Laboratories has partnered with 30 of the 50 largest biotech and pharma companies in 45 countries, right from Spokane.
“We’ve been able to put together a pretty amazing group of resources and people and have truly a global impact.”
