ST. MARIES, Idaho — The City of St. Maries announced that the main water system will be shut off on Main Avenue and College Avenue.
City contractors will start work on Monday, April 8, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The affected areas will be Main Avenue from 11 to 18 Street and College Avenue from Coeur d’Alene to 18 Street.
City officials tell community members that before the water gets turned off to do the following:
Store up water the night before in case of an emergency. You may want to turn off your water heater while the water is off in your area.
City officials say that when water has been restored, turn the outside faucet on prior to using the inside water faucets, and let the water run outside until it is clear.
