SPOKANE, Wash. — A man made his first court appearance on Monday after being arrested for allegedly cutting a gas line outside a Spokane Fire Department (SFD) station and threatening to ignite it.

According to court documents, on Sunday, Timothy Bigham, 30, reportedly cut a hose connected to a gas tank, causing a spill and reportedly threatened to set the gas on fire with a lighter on a SFD station at 44 West Riverside Avenue. The threat included a statement about potentially harming the nine firefighters nearby.

Court documents said that when police arrived and attempted to arrest him, they had to take him to the ground and handcuff him. Police also reported that they have probable cause to charge him with resisting arrest.

Bigham’s bond was set at $25,000. Although he faced nine counts of harassment, a judge dismissed those charges due to a lack of probable cause. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Oct. 29.
