SPOKANE, Wash. – A man and a dog were hit and killed by a pickup truck Friday night in north Spokane according to police.
The crash took place at around 11:34 p.m. at the intersection of Division Street and Lincoln Road according to the Spokane Police Department (SPD).
After medics tried to save his life, the man hit by the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. A dog walking with him was also killed. The driver of the pickup truck remained in the area and spoke with investigators.
“The driver advised they were traveling southbound on Division approaching Lincoln Road when they observed a vehicle traveling northbound, swerve. The involved driver then observed a male in the roadway in front of his vehicle and was not able to avoid the male,” SPD said.
The police department is still investigating the incident, and the name of the man killed in the crash will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later time.
