Man arrested after shooting in Riverfront Park

SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested after Spokane police said he started shooting at a group of people in Riverfront Park.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), a group of people on scooters approached another group just before midnight on June 25. A man on a scooter said he had a gun, pulled it out and started shooting.

SPD said no one was hit during this shooting, but the victims feared for their lives.

Officers found multiple shell casings on the bridge and located the suspect near the park on Sprague and Lincoln.

25-year-old Dominick J. Kirk Atchinson was arrested for five counts of first-degree assault and booked into the Spokane County Jail.
