LIBERTY LAKE, Wash. – A 36-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping a 17-year-old in Pavilion Park on Friday.
According to court documents, Michael Martinez allegedly approached a teenager in the park and forced them into the Pavilion Park bathrooms, at which point he forced them to have sex.
In an interview with the Liberty Lake Police Department, when Martinez was asked how old the victim was, he said “I hope…18.”
Martinez is currently in Spokane County Jail on a rape charge and a separate charge of taking a vehicle without permission. His bond was set at $110,000 by a Spokane County Superior Court judge on Saturday.
