Man arrested for reportedly making threats that led to Spokane City Hall shutdown

SPOKANE, Wash. — Monday has been arrested in North Idaho.

According to a press release from the Spokane Police Department (SPD), the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Chesed Johnson, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly making repeated threats.

Police said Johnson’s threats included references to creating a situation that would result in deadly force. At the time of the incident, Johnson had active local arrest warrants for intimidating a public servant and stalking. SPD also noted that Johnson faced pending charges of second-degree escape for failing to comply with court-mandated sanctions.

SPD said Johnson was located in North Idaho and taken into custody on the Washington warrants. Authorities indicated that additional charges could be filed against Johnson in connection with Monday’s incident.
