SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man suspected in a home burglary case on Aug. 15.
CSO said that Harry L. Autrey, 48, is the primary suspect in an active investigation of a burglary on Aug. 10 on the 7600 block of N. Altamont Street.
A security camera caught two suspects breaking into the home, disabling the camera with a crowbar. Police were able to get a close-up of the suspect’s face through a mask and spotted the suspect’s truck in the video.
A woman was watching the home for a family member, and when she returned, she said the house was ‘ransacked’ and items were missing. She also reported that there was damage to the back door.
The suspects stole a variety of items totaling over $9,000, including a three-foot sword, tools, replica guns and two long guns.
A few days later, police spotted a truck similar to the one seen in security video in the same area as the crime. Police then obtained a search warrant and seized the truck.
Detectives reviewed the evidence and found several convincing items, as well as Spokane County Superior Court bond paperwork for Autrey, inside the truck. Flock images of the truck showed that Autrey was driving the vehicle on multiple occasions.
Police learned that Autrey has had 5 felony convictions, 55 arrests and 22 misdemeanor convictions from 1992 to 2023.
SCIU developed probable cause to arrest Autrey for 1st-degree burglary among other charges on Aug. 15.
He was booked into Spokane County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
