SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – A man charged with shooting another man to death near a Spokane Valley Jack-in-the-Box pleaded guilty to murder on Monday and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Jason Barton formally conceded that he killed 41-year-old Dennis Vezina in September 2023 on Monday. Police say Vezina walked into the lobby of the restaurant and died.
Authorities reported that Barton rode a bicycle to a nearby dumpster, got off the bike, and chased Vezina before shooting him.
