Man trapped in car after crash rescued by Spokane firefighters

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Fire Department (SFD) rescued a man from his car following a crash near East Central Spokane.

On Tuesday, April 30, at 11:03 a.m., SFD responded to a car crash at the North Freya and East Alki Avenue intersection. SFD said the 911 dispatcher told them that a man was trapped in his car after a crash.

Fire crews arrived, and after 19 minutes of trying to free the trapped driver, SFD was able to extract him from the car.

SFD said the man had severe injuries but was in stable condition and was transported to the hospital.
