SPOKANE, Wash. – Antwon Jones, an employee of Martin Hall Juvenile Corrections Facility, made his first appearance in court on Friday following his arrest for child rape on Feb. 29.

Jones is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl detained at Martin Hall on Jan. 26 while transporting her back to the facility following an off-site visit in Medical Lake.

Court documents offer additional details regarding the alleged assault.

The victim was in handcuffs, leg restraints and torso restraints in the back of a Martin Hall transport vehicle. Jones allegedly forced the victim to allow him oral and vaginal access.

The victim believed that she would be punished or hurt if she did not comply with Jones’ demands.

Jones claims that he was in the back of the transport because the victim was complaining about her restraints, and that nothing inappropriate occurred.

He says that he was in the back of the vehicle for an hour because he became locked into the back of the transport after the door closed behind him.

Court documents state that the victim told investigators that Jones raped her and only then realized that he had been locked in the back of the vehicle.

After about an hour a passerby let Jones out of the vehicle from the outside. Police are still searching for that individual.

Jones was terminated on Feb. 7 for professional incompetence.

An investigation into Jones by the private contractor which operates the Martin Hall facility began on Feb. 1 and was escalated to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office on Feb. 13.

A forensic investigation conducted upon materials in the transport found semen in the vehicle.

The court documents mentioned that Jones lived with children and coached youth sports before being arrested.

Jones is currently in Spokane County Jail and facing two counts related to the alleged conduct.
