Medical Lake brush fire quickly extinguished by firefighters and residents

MEDICAL LAKE, Wash. – Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District #3, along with local residents, successfully extinguished a small brush fire in Medical Lake.

According to Spokane Fire 3, the incident occurred yesterday evening on June 22 at East Campbell Street in Medical Lake. The fire consumed a 4×4 area of brush and grass but was brought under control with the assistance of nearby residents who provided fire extinguishers.

Fire officials from Spokane County Fire District #3 reported that the residents’ prompt action prevented the fire from spreading beyond the initial area.

Given the Red Flag Warning issued for June 23, it is crucial to remain vigilant and adhere to local burn bans. The National Weather Service advises the public to avoid parking on dry grass, refrain from activities that could generate sparks, properly dispose of cigarettes, secure loose chains, thoroughly extinguish campfires, and respect local burn restrictions.
