SPOKANE, Wash, – The west Medical Lake water access is closed for debris clean-up due to the Gray fire that rolled through in August 2023.
The area is just west of Spokane and will be closed from April 29 to May 10.
Crews are working to make the water more usable as they plan to clear more than 1,100 feet of damaged fencing and concrete posts along the water.
Dead trees and other debris will also be removed, and crews will also attempt to not alter or impact any boat ramps as fishing season quickly approaches.
The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife say they know this might cause some inconveniences, but they are hoping to make the water safer and more useable for the public.
