Moses Lake Boeing workers strike amid national concerns

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – Over 800 workers at the Moses Lake Boeing facility are on strike Friday amid a national strike for better pay.

A source within the union said that 880 machinists were picketing Friday at the gates of the facility in the first strike in company history since 2008.

This comes after a 97% vote to reject the contract provided by Boeing, which included a 25% raise over the next four years, with a majority of workers across the nation agreeing that it was not enough.

Moses Lake Boeing machinists echoed national concerns, demanding a 40% raise over the next four years.

Boeing agreed to go back to the drawing board and work on a new contract for workers.

The strike did not affect flights but hurt the company’s plans to deliver planes to airports.
