MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The Moses Lake community came together to fund the Boys & Girls Club of the Columbia Basin through 2024.

Battery manufacturer Group14 matched $85,000 in donations to the organization for a total of $175,000 donated. Local businesses Apollo, Barin Group, Clayco Foundation, McKinstry, North Central Construction, Transco and Valley Electric also contributed.

Don Kersey, a plant manager with Group14, touted the accomplishment Wednesday.

“The support that’s been so quickly rallied behind the Boys & Girls Clubs is a testament to the strength of our community here in Moses Lake,” Kersey said.

The donation to the Boys & Girls Club takes place within the wider context of a $20 million budget shortfall faced by the Moses Lake School District and shuttered all non-essential district programming for the upcoming school year.
