MOSES LAKE, Wash. – A Moses Lake man is dead after a house fire on Friday afternoon.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 4 p.m. Friday to a home in the area of Blue Goose Road Northeast. A concerned neighbor had gone to check on the man after noticing the home’s garage had been open since Thursday.
The neighbor opened the front door and discovered heat and smoke damage inside, along with the man’s body on the floor.
Investigators suspect the fire began inside the weathertight home and burned until it ran out of oxygen. They believe the man was overcome by smoke.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
The Grant County Fire Marshal and the sheriff’s office are investigating.
