Motorcyclist dies in crash on Highway 2 near Browning

BROWNING, Mont. – A man died in a crash between a car and a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 2 near Browning Sunday.

The motorcycle and the car were going east on the highway.

The Montana Highway Patrol said in the fatal crash report the motorcycle slowed down and moved onto the right side of the highway to do a U-turn. The car saw the motorcycle slow down and move, and moved into the opposite lane to pass the motorcycle.

While in the other lane, MHP said the car hit the motorcycle while the motorcycle was trying to do a U-turn.

The motorcycle driver, a 50-year-old man from Reserve, was pronounced dead on arrival.

The passenger of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old woman, was injured and brought to Indian Health Services.

The driver of the car, a 28-year-old man from Browning, was not injured.

MHP said alcohol, drugs and speed are suspected factors in the crash.
