MEAD, Wash. – Mt. Spokane is open for holiday festivities, offering skiing and snowboarding with Santa today and tomorrow.
Jim Van Loebenels shared that Santa will be on the ski slopes from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. today. “Santa’s gonna be out on the ski slopes here at Mount Spokane, and the kids can ski around and meet with him and have some candy on time,” said Van Loebenels.
Visitors can also enjoy tubing from noon to 4:00 p.m. both days. Van Loebenels described the atmosphere as lively and welcoming. “This is a great time. We work all year for this week in between Christmas and New Year’s, and we are packed typically for that,” he said.
The mountain attracts many first-time skiers, including families visiting from out of town. Van Loebenels shared, “I wrote up a chair yesterday with a family from Georgia. It’s their annual tradition to visit family and then come to the mountain and ski.”
The days leading up to Christmas are also a popular time for people to try out new gear. “Santa does deliver sometimes and everyone loves to come and check out their new coats, boots, skis,” Van Loebenels added.
With snow in the forecast, Mt. Spokane promises a festive and snowy holiday experience.
