NASA graduates new cohort of astronauts

WASHINGTON – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has graduated a new group of astronauts.

A statement congratulating the team from Vice President Kamala Harris highlighted the accomplishments of the ten Americans and two citizens of the United Arab Emirates.

“This diverse group of leaders from across our country will become a part of the next generation of space explorers who will break new barriers, including walking on the Moon as part of the Artemis campaign and traveling to Mars,” Harris said.

The new group of astronauts join NASA at a time in which the agency is emphasizing public-private partnerships and the potential for a Mars mission in the future.
