SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a reported shooting at the Riverwalk Point apartments in Spokane County just east of Spokane. No one was injured in the event and the Sheriff’s office is investigating.
Neighbors who live in the apartments and asked to remain anonymous said that this kind of behavior has been going on for some time, but they feel that the area is getting worse.
“We are all afraid for our safety, we feel like someone could get shot at any moment,” a concerned neighbor said.
Video of the incident showed a group disperse after someone fired a gun. Shortly after, multiple additional rounds were fired in the direction of people running away from the scene.
Neighbors said that they have raised concerns before, but don’t feel anything has been done. They said being outside of the Spokane and Spokane Valley city limits makes them feel unheard. The disturbances even have forced some to move away.
“We’re literally in fear for our lives, I don’t know what to do other than move away from an environment that I’ve been here a very long time,” a neighbor said.
The sheriff’s office said anyone with information on this incident should call crime check, and people should report these events so that they are aware and can help with the situation.
