SPOKANE, Wash. – The New Orleans Police Superintendent who coordinated the department’s response to a Wednesday is a former Spokane Police Chief.
Kirkpatrick was the Lilac City’s chief of police from 2006 to 2011, when she to lead a reform initiative.
She was selected as the superintendent of the New Orleans Police Department in 2023.
In addition to working as a municipal police official, Kirkpatrick is also a National Instructor for the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Association’s Leadership Training Program according to the City of New Orleans website.
