New property tax valuation notices headed to Spokane County residents

SPOKANE, Wash. – Property valuation change notices will be mailed to about 200,000 property owners in Spokane County starting Friday.

According to Spokane County Assessor Tom Konis’ office, the changes will impact 2025 property taxes.

“The assessed value of the property identified in the notice is the amount on which your 2025 property taxes are calculated. Property assessments reflect the values as of Jan. 1, 2024, and are determined by analyzing real estate sales in 855 statistical neighborhoods,” Konis’ office said.

Konis offered additional context on the change in real property valuations, saying that changes in the real estate market have shifted some property values.

“The residential real estate market appears to have slowed in some areas recently, while other neighborhoods continue to rise in value regardless of the overall trend. Additionally, residential land is in high demand and prices continue to rise,” Konis said.

An estimated property tax tool for 2025 is on Spokane County’s website.
