SPOKANE, Wash. – Construction is underway for the new student residence hall at Gonzaga University.
The building, , will be located at the corner of Sharp and Cincinnati and will accommodate 92 second-year students.
The facility features a variety of room configurations including one, two and four-bed options in one- and two-room suites, each equipped with its own bathroom.
Mantua Hall is modeled after Dillon, Goller and Twohy student halls but offers approximately 5,000 square feet more space for the same number of residents compared to those built in the early 2000s.
“In designing the building, we aimed to create a space that meets the needs of second-year students,” said Matt Lamsma, Dean of Student Development. “We sought to strike a balance between privacy and community. The common areas throughout the building are designed to encourage students to come out of their rooms for studying, group work, community building, relaxation and socializing.”
According to building permit data for the Mantua Hall project, Walker Construction serves as the general contractor and Wolfe Architectural Group designed the architecture. The project is valued at $12,750,000.
