WASHINGTON, D.C. – Newly elected members of the House of Representatives recently completed their orientation with a photo on the Capitol steps. Among them was Congressman-elect Michael Baumgartner from Washington’s 5th Congressional District.
This marks the first time in nearly 20 years that the 5th District will not be represented by Cathy McMorris Rodgers. Baumgartner’s election brings a significant change to the district’s representation.
Other new members from the region include Congressman-elect Troy Downing from Montana’s 2nd Congressional District. Their participation in the orientation signals the beginning of their legislative roles in the House.
The orientation event is a traditional gathering for incoming members, providing them with essential information and resources as they prepare to take office.
