SPOKANE, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee’s former General Counsel Nick Brown picked up an endorsement from the Spokane County Democratic Party.
Brown announced the endorsement via social media on Friday.
“I am honored to announce that I have received the endorsement of the Spokane County Democrats! Your dedication and hard work were instrumental in securing Democratic wins on the Spokane City Council last year, and I am so thankful to have you on our team,” Brown said.
Spokane Democrats picked Brown over Washington State Senator Manka Dhingra, who is entangled in a disagreement with the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office over whether she is on leave or no longer employed by the county according to The Seattle Times.
Republican candidate and Mayor of Pasco Pete Serrano is also running for Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s current seat.
Because Washington operates a top two primary system, there is the potential for both Brown and Dhingra to move forward to the November general election depending on whether Democrats can put up a strong performance across the ticket
