SPOKANE, Wash. – According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), no one was injured after a plane made an emergency landing on the northbound North Spokane Corridor.

WSP reported that the plane made an emergency landing on the northbound side of the North Spokane Corridor, just north of Wellesley.

An officer from WSP informed NonStop Local that the plane ran out of fuel in one tank and failed to switch to the second tank.

WSP mentioned that a trainee piloted the plane, with a senior pilot serving as co-pilot. Officers at the scene added that the plane landed on a construction site along the corridor and confirmed that no construction crews were nearby.

The Washington State Department of Transportation and WSP announced the closure of the North Spokane Corridor in both directions between Wellesley and Freya. The roadway has since re-opened.

WSP said that the plane had sufficient space and fuel to take off from the highway construction site and safely return to base.

WSP said no one was injured and there was no damage to area or to the plane.
