COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Voters in North Idaho are heading to the polls to make their voices heard on several important issues. The scene at Lake City High School is bustling with activity as residents participate in this crucial election.

The most closely watched contest is Proposition 1, which could significantly alter Idaho’s election process. If approved, it would open primary elections to all voters and introduce ranked choice voting for general elections.

Another major issue on the ballot is the Coeur d’Alene School Board’s $25 million, two-year replacement levy. This measure is crucial for continuing to fund educational needs in the area.

One voter shared her positive experience at Lake City High School and emphasized the importance of the levy.

“It really needs to continue for the education of our youth and being able to continue with having the funds to support those needs,” she said.

As the day progresses, voters in North Idaho will continue to weigh in on these significant issues, shaping the future of their community.
