SPOKANE, Wash. – A fire broke out in a north Spokane home, killing a family dog and leaving multiple residents displaced.
The Spokane Fire Department responded to the house fire on the 6000 block of North Lindeke Street around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
The house was fully engulfed in flames, and firefighters worked quickly to knock them down. Both the outside and inside of the house were badly damaged and deemed unlivable.
It is unknown how many residents were displaced because of the fire, but the Red Cross is assisting those affected.
Firefighters do not know how the fire started but noted it began at the back of the house and spread quickly.
The family who lived in the home lost their dog in the fire, but all residents escaped without injury.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
