Northwest Spokane house destroyed in fire

SPOKANE, Wash. – A house in northwest Spokane is a total loss after a fire started in the basement and quickly spread.

Around 2:30 a.m. the house on the 3500 block of West Fleming Place caught fire and the Spokane Fire Department quickly responded.

The homeowner told NonStop Local that the fire started in the basement from a heater, and it quickly spread to the rest of the house.

Fire disaster crew on scene told the homeowner that the house was a total loss and unlivable.

Two residents and a dog escaped the fire and no injuries are reported.
