SPOKANE, Wash. — An off-duty Pasco Police officer stopped a man running from police after a crash near Washington and Main Avenue on Monday.
According to the Spokane Police Department, the car involved in the crash was stolen, and the driver immediately tried to run.
SPD confirmed an off-duty Pasco Police Officer witnessed the crash and chased down the suspect, returning him to SPD. The suspect was arrested at the scene.
The off-duty officer was attending the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs conference happening this week.
The Spokane Fire Department confirmed everyone involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. Washington and Main Avenues were blocked for an extended period.
The driver who caused the crash faces charges of felony hit and run and DUI. SPD said there could be more charges added.
The cause of this crash remains under investigation.
