OTIS ORCHARDS, Wash. – A person is dead after reportedly drowning in the Spokane River near Otis Orchards.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, multiple citizens at the scene called 911 and reported a body floating down the Spokane River. Deputies said multiple agencies were called to the scene, including Spokane Valley, Spokane 13, Sheriff’s office and first responders from Idaho.
Spokane County deputies said the cause of death is under investigation and the victim was a young adult. Deputies added that it appears to be an accidental drowning.
