Othello Police arrest suspect for alleged child porn possession

OTHELLO, Wash. – The Othello Police Department has located and arrested a suspect allegedly in possession of child pornography.

Othello PD Detectives received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, advising that known videos of child sexual abuse material had been shared to cloud storage associated with a person potentially in Othello.

Othello detectives initiated an investigation and obtained several search warrants to gather evidence and eventually identify the suspect.

According to police, on the morning of May 30, Othello investigators initiated a traffic stop on the suspect and arrested him.

As members of the Washington State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Othello police coordinated with the Department of Homeland Security and Vancouver Police Department to serve a search warrant on the suspect’s home.

With the assistance of Vancouver PD Electronic Storage Detection K9 Hota, investigators located evidence.

The suspect was booked into jail on 14 counts of Possession of Depictions of Minors Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct 1st degree, a class B felony.
