COEUR d’ALENE, Idaho – Recent developments surrounding the closure of the Faithful K-9 facility have left one local dog owner in distress. Marla Haller is grappling with the emotional turmoil of not knowing the whereabouts of her beloved dog, Uriee, who was reportedly given away without her consent.

Uriee, a dog initially acquired as a service animal for Haller’s late mother, Joan, was boarded at Faithful K9 when Joan fell ill and was admitted to the ICU. The facility, which had provided boarding services, abruptly shut down following the death of a dog under its care. The sudden closure has left Haller in a desperate search for Uriee, who she says was not surrendered to the facility. After discovering the closure, Haller tried reaching out to Faithful K9 through phone calls and in-person visits, but found no response. Her attempts to contact Animal Control were fruitless, as they indicated that Uriee had not been picked up by them when the facility closed. In response, she sought assistance from local police.Monique Smith, Uriee’s co-owner, discovered through social media that the dog had been given away to a couple. However, she doesn’t know who they are or where they live.Haller’s plea for Uriee’s return underscores the deep emotional connection she has with her pet, which also served as a cherished link to her mother.”I just want him back,” Haller expressed through tears. “He’s a wonderful dog. I pray that they love him and take care of him, but I need him back.”The owner of Faithful K9, Richie Alaniz, is currently in jail and has not responded to requests for comment. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Uriee’s location or the couple who received him to contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department.Monique is providing updates on her website, just visit this link.
