Funny pictures show penguins visiting a care home to the delight of residents.

OAPs at Ashcombe House in Basingstoke were delighted to welcome Humboldt penguins Widget and Two Dots.

The adorable penguins, brought by Barbara from Amazing Animals, quickly became the stars of the day.

Known for their love of cuddles, Widget and Two Dots charmed everyone as they snuggled up on sofas and enjoyed plenty of their favorite fishy treats.

Lillian, nearly 103 years old, expressed her amazement, saying: “I never thought I’d be holding a penguin. It was truly a remarkable day.”

General Manager Louise Lambert said it was ‘such a joy’ to see their residents light up around the ‘wonderful’ creatures.

She added: “The penguins’ cuddles made it a truly magical afternoon to kick off the festive season.

“All we’re missing now is a sprinkle of snow to complete the scene!

“The visit left everyone feeling merry and bright, proving that penguins really can waddle their way into hearts.”
