CHENEY, Wash. – One person is dead and another injured following a trailer fire in Cheney late Monday night.
According to a spokesperson at the scene, Spokane County Fire District 10 and other fire crews responded to the blaze, which was reported around 11 p.m. near 10 Vine Street. Firefighters found the trailer fully engulfed in flames. One person died in the fire, and another suffered injuries from smoke inhalation.
A downed power line was also reported at the scene, though firefighters clarified that the fire did not cause the power line to fall. Instead, the downed line was a side effect of the fire.
An investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released on Tuesday.
