SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — One man is in the hospital and another in jail after a stabbing in south Spokane Valley on Monday morning.

A lieutenant with the Spokane Valley Police Department said the victim flagged a deputy down shortly before 9 a.m. after he had been stabbed in the chest.

Police believed the injuries were sustained after some sort of fight, but it wasn’t clear if the two knew each other.

Deputies used cameras and a description from the victim to track down the suspect, whose identity wasn’t been confirmed. Police arrested him at about 9:40 a.m., and Pines Road was closed near 22nd Avenue while they investigated.
