Police respond to SWAT standoff in northeast Spokane following reported drive-by shooting

SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department (SPD) is currently responding to a SWAT standoff in northeast Spokane.

According to SPD, officers were dispatched to a reported drive-by shooting in the Hillyard neighborhood on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 30. Officers located the suspected shooter at a home on East Frederick Avenue near Minnehaha Park. The SWAT team and other law enforcement agencies have surrounded the house.

According to police this remains an ongoing incident.
