MONROE, Wash. – Law enforcement is searching for a Washington prison inmate who escaped from the Monroe Correctional Complex.
Patrick Lester Clay, 59, stole a staff member’s car after breaking into an office during routine cleaning and maintenance and finding their keys.
Clay drove off in a white four-door GMC Sierra truck with license plate C39525X. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a khaki jacket, a khaki beanie, white tennis shoes, and a yellow DOC vest.
The Department of Corrections stated that he may now be wearing a blue-grey zip-up sweatshirt and a black ball cap that were inside the stolen vehicle.
Clay was serving time for burglary, malicious mischief, harassment, and theft, and his release was scheduled for December 24, 2025.
