KETTLE FALLS, Wash. – A significant portion of the Columbia River bank near Kettle Falls collapsed into the water over the weekend, creating large waves.
Janet Williams, a local resident, shared images of the riverbank from her home. She described the scene before and after the incident.
Williams said the first collapse occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday. She heard a loud noise, comparable to a bomb, and discovered a large section of land had fallen into the river.
Later in the day, another similar event took place, Williams added.
