COEUR D’ ALENE, Idaho – A Post Falls man has been convicted of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon for shooting through a door and hitting two people after being asked to leave a party.
The incident took place in Coeur d’Alene on Nov. 25, 2023 according to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office.
Elijah Hocking fired his gun at a Coeur d’Alene apartment complex after being kicked-out. The two men hit by him were hospitalized and survived the incident.
Hocking was arrested that day and charged with aggravated battery and the unlawful discharge of a firearm.
He was convicted on both counts according to Kootenai County prosecutors. He will serve a 15 year sentence with the potential for parole after seven years in prison.
