POST FALLS, Idaho — A Post Falls man was sentenced after he engaged in sexual conduct with two children.
Derek J. Thomson, 29, was found sexually abusing two children between Sept. 2018 and Sept. 2023. According to court documents, the abuse took place when the children were between 3-8 and 2-7 years old.
Thomson was sentenced on June 5 to 30 years in prison with parole eligibility after ten years.
“The Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office supports victims of crime, particularly children who have been abused by the hands of a trusted adult. This type of conduct is among the worst in society and we appreciate all who work to protect children,” Prosecuting Attorney Stanley T. Mortensen said.
