POST FALLS, Idaho – A local restoration company, Disaster Response, is actively seeking experienced workers to support ongoing hurricane relief efforts in Florida.
The company, which currently has over 20 workers deployed in the affected areas, hopes to send additional staff as early as next week.
Jen Goe with Disaster Response emphasized the organization’s mission. “Helping people is what we do… That is the core of our business… is restoring people’s lives… and that’s what we’re trying to do down in Florida right now,” Goe said.
Interested candidates need at least one year of restoration experience to be considered for deployment. These positions range from technicians to management roles, catering to those who can efficiently organize local relief efforts.
“Anybody that has experience in restoration can apply… If you don’t have experience, we’re willing to train you… And that would be working on a local level. People with experience would have the opportunity to travel to Florida to help us out,” Goe stated, highlighting the urgency for reinforcements.
The team has been involved in relief efforts for almost two weeks, initially focusing on Hurricane Helene. Currently, they have sought shelter in a neighboring city due to Hurricane Milton and plan to resume work once it is safe.
Disaster Response expects its crews to remain in Florida until the end of the year. Those interested in joining the effort can apply here.
Goe also wants the public to know that while they are sending many crews down to Florida, Disaster Response still has enough crews locally to respond to a local emergency if needed.
