Due to weather, this event has been postponed until Monday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
When the Gonzaga Clay Club throws a fundraiser for SCRAPS this Friday, they are literally “throwing” a fundraiser. The group is helping raise money for the SCRAPS Animal Medical Fund by throwing clay pots that will be used for ice cream bowls.
Pots for Paws will take place Monday, May 2 from 2 – 4 p.m. on the Gonzaga University Quad (Herak Lawn). For $10 you can get a one-of-a-kind, handmade clay bowl filled with ice cream and help provide surgery, medicine and a safe home to an injured animal through the SCRAPS Animal Medical Fund.
The SCRAPS Animal Medical Fund provides homeless, abused and abandoned animals right here in Spokane County with medical treatment, rehabilitation and a new home.
“Our Animal Medical Program is completely funded through private donations from fundraiser like this.” said Janet Dixon, who is the Development and Public Relations Manager for SCRAPS. “Without an owner, these animals have no one to pay for the surgery, medical visits or vaccinations they need except SCRAPS.”
Pots for Paws was created by Mat Rude, a ceramic professor at GU, and Clay Club president Kerri Huso.
