SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Arena is set to host an electrifying event as the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) take center stage. The event promises a thrilling competition between man and bull, drawing both local and international competitors.
Dakota Louis, a professional bull rider, shared his excitement about the event.
“These bulls, they love what they do, they are 2000-pound athletes, you ain’t gonna make them do anything… They come to town, they feel the electricity, they see the fireworks and they hear the music and the fans… That’s what makes them revved up too, ya know,” Louis said.
The event will feature 35 riders, with a mix of up-and-coming talents and seasoned veterans. Louis emphasized that the unpredictability of the bulls adds to the excitement.
“Whenever 2000-pound bulls get in an environment like the arena, there’s no telling what could happen,” he stated.
The evening will include pyrotechnics, fireworks, and an entertainer to keep the crowd energized. Once the riding begins, Louis assured that spectators won’t want to leave their seats.
Louis, who has been part of the PBR for 13 seasons, shared his personal journey into bull riding. Inspired by his father, a respected professional bull rider in Montana, Louis began riding horses before he could speak and gradually progressed to riding bulls.
Unfortunately, Louis will not be competing this weekend due to a leg injury he sustained a few months ago.
“Mentally I wanna be out there yesterday. I’ve been excited, I’ve been watching everything when I’m at home on TV. You really take the gratitude in when you’re not able to be out there when you normally are,” he said.
Louis says Friday and Saturday’s events will run from 7 for about two hours. He recommends buying tickets soon, because the last few times they have visited Spokane, Saturday night’s event has sold out.
Tickets for the event start at $15 and can be purchased through Tickets West or at the door.
