Fox First at 10 anchor, Claire Graham, has added a new member to her family! Meet Static, a 9-year-old Pomeranian she rescued from SCRAPS.
Static started out as a foster dog, the 9th one for Claire. She has been fostering dogs for different rescue groups for about three years now. Animals often go into foster care when they have a medical need or some kind of issue that makes it difficult for them to live in a shelter until they get adopted.
When Static came into SCRAPS, he had an ear infection and all the hair on his back had fallen out, likely from stress due to his prior situation. So when Claire and Promo went to SCRAPS one week to shoot Promo’s Picks and a volunteer brought in Static, there was a unanimous decision for Claire to bring him home as a foster dog to see if his hair would grow back.
Two months later, the hair did grow in, but Static had also grown on them– even Promo was in love! Knowing they couldn’t separate two pups who were already best buds, Claire welcomed Static into their family as their first “foster failure.” Luckily, it was the most successful failure of their lives.
