SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Public Schools board is moving closer to filling the seat vacated by Melissa Bedford in August.
This week, the board interviewed three finalists: Kate Telis, Luke Tolley, and Nicole Bishop. During the interview process, the board asked each candidate questions focused on their support for the district’s strategic plan, their approach to handling parent complaints, and their views on the most controversial issue in public education.
With the three-month deadline to fill the seat approaching, the board plans to make a decision at a special session ahead of their regular meeting this Wednesday. The selected candidate is expected to be sworn in at the next meeting on November 6, before the November 15 deadline.
The community will soon see which of these individuals will join the board and contribute to decisions impacting the district’s future.
