Pullman High School students arrested for allegedly threatening to bring a gun and ‘shoot up the school’

PULLMAN, Wash. — Two Pullman High School students were arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening to bring a gun to school and “shoot up the school.”

According to the Pullman Police Department, police responded to the threats at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday. School staff had been alerted to a student’s report that another student threatened to bring a gun to school and “shoot up the school.”

The suspects were quickly identified and detained before classes began. They were kept away from other students to ensure safety, and .

After investigating, police said that they learned that several students had heard about the threats the day before but had not initially come forward. Police said the two students reportedly threatened to bring a gun and “shoot up the school,” starting with two specific student targets. No firearm has been recovered.

The two 14-year-old suspects, one a Pullman resident and the other from Whitman County, were arrested on felony harassment and threats to bomb or injure property. Both teens were booked into Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Facility.

Pullman High School resumed normal operations, and no injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
